Understanding of the three brains of men

Some scientists believe that the human person is the holder of three brains superimposed.

The human brain consists of several different areas that evolved at different times.

When the brains of our ancestors grew a new area, usually discarded the old nature, instead, kept them, forming the most recent section above them.

These primitive parts of the human brain are operating in accordance with an instinctive stereotyped set of programs, both from mammals that inhabited the forest floor and, even further back in time, of the crude reptiles that gave rise to mammals .

The first shared by the reptiles, the most primitive, is the one that facilitates the activities in the form of stimulus-response.

His capacity for learning is limited, almost negligible, is the oldest part of the brain and developed about 500 million years.

It is found primarily in reptiles. Reptiles are the animal species with the smallest brain development.

His, is designed to handle survival from a binary system: fight or flight.

It has a very important role in the control of instinctual life. It is responsible for self-regulate the body.

Consequently, the brain is not able to think or feel, its function is to act, when the state of the body demands it.

It is the urge for survival: eating, drinking, body temperature, sex, territoriality, need for shelter, protection ...

It is a functional brain, territorial, responsible for preserving life.

To put it quickly in the first brain is a legacy of the cave periods where survival was essential.

The second brain corresponds to the limbic system, typical of mammals, capable of providing a biological basis for processes such as maintaining body temperature constant even if the environment varies.

Allows processes such as learning, memory and emotional expression.

It can be said that this brain has the characteristics of incorporating this what happened in the past.

Its main function is to control the emotional life, including feelings, endocrine regulation, pain and pleasure.

Can be regarded as the brain is affected, which energizes the behavior to achieve goals-motivation.

The imbalance of this system leads to aggressive states, severe depression and memory loss, among other diseases.

This second brain, which allows you to feel.

Its more specific from the point of view of time is the ability to put the past in the present (learning, memory)

And the third which corresponds especially to the frontal poles of the human brain allows us to anticipate, to include in this, not only the past but the future.

Characterized also enable other activities such as developing a sense of humor, complex forms of communication and symbolic activity.

All three support the instinctive reactions, emotional states and cognitive activity, respectively.

To the extent that the person makes decisions using preferably one of them is described as impulsive, emotional or rational.
